With thriving, expertly managed forestry and two successful Christmas tree businesses, Fasque & Glendye estates not only support themselves, but are active contributors to the economy and generators of local employment.
The Walled Garden Partnership, originally established in the old Fasque walled garden but now relocated to a new site, is a joint venture between the estate and Danish tree grower Soren Petersen. The WGP grows smaller, pot-grown trees, generally under 5ft in height. The advantage is that the trees can be re-potted to grow bigger, or re-planted outside. Trees produced under the WGP include blue spruce, Serbian spruce, Norway spruce and Nordmann pine. They are wholesaled to garden centres, farm shops and other retailers.
